Justin Jernigan’s practice focuses primarily on intellectual property litigation.  He has experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in patent, trademark, trade dress, unfair competition, copyright, antitrust, and breach of contract litigation, as well as administrative proceedings before the TTAB.

Justin also counsels and assists clients in developing, obtaining, and maintaining intellectual property rights.  He has drafted patent applications and provided opinions relating to patentability, infringement, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate in a wide range of technical areas (e.g., mechanical and electromechanical equipment, product packaging, and chemical arts).

Justin is active in community organizations and pro bono work, including serving as a volunteer for “Wills for Heroes” drafting wills and living wills for first responders.

Prior to joining the firm, he served as a law clerk to a United States District Judge (2007-2008) and a United States Magistrate Judge (2006-2007).

Before entering law school, Justin worked in the textile industry.
